« on: April 04, 2012, 08:21:14 PM »
Found a hairline crack in my oil pan, has anyone had any success trying to repair this type of problem. Could a hairline crack be welded.
Thanks

I've never tried, but I would think that a hairline crack wouldn't be to big of a problem for an experienced welder with a TIG machine.

Or a possibly cheaper solution.

Are you sure it's a crack? The die-cast Honda parts often have spider-web looking marks that can be mistaken for hairline cracks.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

A replacement from ebay would probably be the cheapest route. I got a nearly-new looking one for just $25 shipped (to HAWAII).
