you're in syracuse, i bet you have a backyard.. go get yourself some barbeque paint, and build a rig where you can have a fire burning and your exhaust above it. Paint it a bunch and hang it over the fire.. then paint it some more, hang it some more.
Then... clean off the soot, and give it one last coat. that will last freaking forever.

I talked to the tech at Mac who handles their motorcycle exhaust division and he said to use high temp bbq paint as well. Hit it with a scotch pad before to clean it up and paint with a thin coat, let cure, then paint again with a heavier coat and let that cure for two days before putting it back on the bike.

That's his advice but you may get better results if you "bake" it on over and over like others have said either using your oven or over a fire.

You'd think they would do that themselves before selling them instead of having techs tell people to repaint their product with BBQ paint.

interesting.  i got a stock 75F header that was powdered silver, and it looks like the phot.  gonna wrap it eventually, right now running a kerker about to be wrapped to hide a dent in #4 tube at top bend..PO hit it with a hammer trying to seat it.
