Racing guitar strap
« on: March 29, 2012, 10:12:11 PM »
I made a guitar strap from our expired 3" NHRA approved seat belts. It's really comfortable, looks bad a$$ and my guitar teacher wants one for his banjo. Mine has the metal pull down adjuster from the shoulder harness, of course it needs to be plastic. My question is, I just melted the button hole for the posts to slip through and am sure they willl loosen with time. Any ideas on clip on posts or a way to improve the ends?

Stitch them or back the ends up with animal skin.  A sparing amount of Gorilla glue would keep it from fraying, too.

Just like anything else, we need pictures.  But I think all you need is some stitching.  And also, stitch a fold at the end.

Sounds like the perfect strap for some Straplocks.

And honestly, I want one. Or four.

Thanks for the ideas, I'm thinking straplocks too.
