Title a Motorcycle from Canada

Any issues getting a NY title for a 1978 motorcycle purchased in Canada? I'm wondering because the bike is already stored in NY but registered/titled in Canada. What is the proper procedure? Do I need to physically bring it back-and-forth across the border for customs? I can get a Bill of Sale from seller, he also has the Canadian title/registration.

Lemme ask for ya, my friend's RZ was grey market, I'll ask about what he did, I think just walk it through the process for the state.
