i want to go FI on my 73 cb500four
« on: April 02, 2012, 09:37:19 PM »
ok so in my infinite lack of carburated wisdom i am thinking about
fitting/fabricating fuel injection to my bike. and using megasquirt to control the injectors
has this been done?
is there a pioneered route already in place. like frankensteined parts off of other bikes.

please give all the useful input that you can. thanks.

No, and if you lack carburetor wisdom this project is definitely not for you.
This waaaaaay harder and more expensive than dialing in a set of carburetors.

well you are right that it is harder, however i have much more knowledge about megasquirt and injectors than i do carbs.

if you think about it, 90% of the threads in old-school bike forums are about carbs.
if there were a viable option to go FI i bet there would be much fewer problems.
being the first is the hard part. its much easier to follow someone elses footsteps.

sighhhh. maybe ill just learn these datgum carbs. haha
