Hi guys!

It's Wayne in Cedar Rapids... It's still early, and lots of things can change or come up, but based on late-July timeframe, I should be able to take part... First weekend of August I have National Guard drill (which will be 4 days that month) but if we can get to Iowa before then, I should be IN...

So, am crossing my fingers, and I'll be monitoring the thread.

 :D
PS - Shane72, where you live?  I'm next to Jackson Elementary school, not far from Wylie BLVD and F avenue...

Wow!  How did I miss this thread????

Really sorry folks, hopefully I have not let anyone down by not paying attention.

I would like to be part of the riding crew in Iowa, live in Cedar Rapids, and am wondering when to be ready so I can coordinate with work.  Hopefully this will still pan out.

As to the PM's--I didn't get the PM message listed above.  Maybe my computer is missing some messages?  Anyway, would the team northern coordinator re-send me whatever else I missed?

Thanks.

And Wayne, Howdy neighbor!  I'm on Terrace Hill Drive NE, near 380 and 42nd street on the NE side.

All the best,

Shane
I mount and balance MC tires--while-you-wait service by appointment.  Send me a PM.

Hey all.  Missed GZ's ride to the Rockys in May, and would like to join the trip to Rockerbox if possible.

Read through the thread, and haven't seen any semi-specific routes and dates yet.  Did I miss it?
Need this info, to coordinate time off, etc.

Looking forward to it!

A possible plan..........IF we get a rider in Eastern Montana AND a rider to get somewhere in South Dakota........Maybe, just maybe Wes could get Lefty GZ back to the Omaha area and the ride could commence to Rocker Box with others joining in along the route ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Omaha to north central Iowa.....north to about Rochester to include Minnesota, (easy one-day ride) then east to LaCross and across Wisconsin to my place or somewhere on the west side of Milwaukee (arrive Friday, earlier the better if my place) for a ride in to Rocker Box on Saturday AM.

Talk to Wes ......We REALLY need a Montana to South Dakota Rider ??? ??? ??? ???

I'm near Cascade in Sheboygan County............about 50 minutes north of Rocker Box if you go the direct route. I plan to host a Friday ride in the northern unit of the Kettle Moraine Forest (twisties) and a camp-over (in my home, garage, field, yard) on Friday PM..........I have showers (bring your own towel). Plenty of places to eat and I have a fridge in the garage full of beer. Three from Michigan and one rider from Chicago made it last year.

If we have a lot of riders coming from all directions, I plan to leave early Saturday AM and attempt to save a SOHC-4 space (block) for parking at the Rocker Box.......others can join the fun from about 11 AM to 5 PM.

North east (or west) corner of Center & Pierce............try to save space along the curb on Pierce........its right in the center of most of the action and is still a good get-a-way.  If you park on Center its hard to leave - especially if we are expecting a dozen or more riders as a group.  I'll will have someone drive my van down with my show-bike and a beer cooler and try to park close-by.

Thanks man..........more later :) :) :) :) :)

I am in for sure. But with my expanding family, there is no way for me to head to Minnesota to pick up. I do plan to be at Old Scramblers though! Saving my last few hours of personal time for the date.

Ok, so the reason I ask is because I have 4+ days off- July 30, 31; August 1, 2 and have to be at work at 11PM on the 3rd. It's the middle of the week when most can't ride. If nobody can ride GZ through to Omaha...

as far as i know we havent heard from anyone in Montana or the Dakotas. if you want to step up to the plate that would be great! i'm in Nebraska and i will do what i can to help GZ get through the SD, NE, IA areas.

What are the current dates for needing to get through Montana etc.  I am busy the next two weekends in July but if we are talking july 28/29 I might could get away and haul a$$ with a 750 up there and catch the corners so we can cover those states.

There are a couple riders in the Twin Cities area and at least three in Iowa.  I'm sure they can help out with the Eastern half of Team North.

No one in the Dekotas, Manitoba or Saskatchewan have stood up yet.  This ride is for fun as the miracle ride (the 2011 Relay) picked up these states/provences last year. Awesome if someone wants to pick up these areas, but I myself would rather see Lefty making it to Rockerbox in Milwaukee on 8/4.

Doable?
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Yep

i know we still need Montana, through the Dakotas and Iowa, on to Rockerbox. I'm currently on standby waiting to see how the plans come together. i've already covered some 1,800 miles in the relay this year, i would like to do more but it all depends on dates for the next leg of the relay. Accolay, if you endup covering some relay miles through the Dakotas and Iowa, I'd be down for riding along for sure.

So, what I understand is that there are no riders from Washington to Nebraska? Where will GZ need to be picked up? At this point I unfortunately cannot ride 7/27-7/29. However, since I'm free those four days prior, I could shoot through South Dakota to Montana and continue South-East to Nebraska. Most people can't ride through the week anyway, but it works for me.

IF I can align some dates I could possibly find someone to work for me the 27th and 28th, but that remains to be seen.

That's what I can do. But if I'm going to ride, I need to know probably by the end of this week, so I can have enough time to start exercising my a$$.

I've been trying to find a way for me to get GZ from Team Pacific NW during my time off, but I don't think they have riders to meet me in my time frame unless I ride all the way to Seattle. Just posted on the that thread if you want to take a look. I'm willing to get out there, but the closer to the West Coast it is, the more unlikely I will be able to do it, even with five days off- and the more hours per day I would have to ride, the less fun it seems. Still thinking about the trip here, but haven't decided.

Nothing is set in stone, but if GZ wants to go to Rocker Box, he may have to catch a ride in a box.

Accolay,
Your enthusiasm makes you my nominee to recieve the baton via Team Brown. Are you ready? You can take some of that energy, along with the time you've allocated to ride, and get Team Northern off to a good start. We'll need to get your address over to flybox1 (PM recommended) so we can get GZ 2.0 shipped to you. Sound good? I hope so, GZ is getting restless!

First, Wes- didn't I accompany you and team Nebraska from Lake Okoboji to Lincoln last year?
Yep

Second, where is the last place GZ has to hitch a ride?

i know we still need Montana, through the Dakotas and Iowa, on to Rockerbox.

Wes, when do you plan to leave for RockerBox?
