CBR750RR,
I was wondering on you're Supra Turbo(Nice car!)when you say "tune"..does that include remapping the fuel injection unit..or will it compensate for the extra flow ?
Tune, for this little power (400-500whp) would be a SAFC (super air fuel computer) and a BCF (boost cut defender) basicly the BCF trick the ohms signal to the computer so the computer does not cut the fuel supply and you adjust the fuel curve with the SAFC. Like I said this is good for about 450whp, a few other electronics but stock ecu is ok for up to about 600whp and full stand alone for Supra in the 1000whp-1500whp range. Keep in mind these motors with stock internals will put down 1000whp without being built.

OK I did not want to get sucked into this vortex, but ......

Net time your at a busy intersection or a mall count how many Hondas you see. The 4cyl accord and civic are in the top 5 of cars on the road in the United States. How many CB's  do you see a year our exhausts are not profitable on a mass production basis.

I work in the car Industry and worked for a Honda dealership for many years. In the last five years CAFE emissions laws have changed how cars are produced. Emissions and fuel economy are more important than performance, so a 25 hp gain is not inconceivable. Re map and loose all emissions restrictions

Nah I have a better idea, rather than everybody throwing HP #'s left and right just show me 1/4 mile ET's instead. A 1/4 mile ET says more to me than any dyno # does.

Actually 1/4 mile times dont mean much, the REAL story is in the trap speed, For example a car can run 12s with a trap of 140mph and another car can run 11s with a trap of 120, WHP makes the trap speeds, track condition, fwd/rwd/awd, driver, surface, etc determine the time!
IE a street tire honda running 12.0 @130 would destroy a viper that ran 11.6@117 WHY? because the viper is RWD and has 355s out back and grips much better etc, the honda reached a higher top speed, even though it was spinning and not gripping even close to the viper, from a roll, these two fictional cars, the honda would pull on the viper easily! So the TRAP SPEED tells the story!,

 Zappa said that ..Flakes..

For your info  trap speed is meaningless if the other guy got to the finish line.4 second ahead of you..he still won.. thee one thru the lights first wins everytime..i heads-up..

So the TRAP SPEED tells the story!,

Huh? If you you can't get the power to the ground then what's the point? The most insane and outrageously fun car I've been in was a lowly VW Beetle a buddy of mine had when we were both in HS, he stuffed a modified engine and transaxle that came from a dune buggy in it and nobody that we came across on the streets of  in the southwest suburbs of Chicago could touch it in 1/8 mile stop light to stop light action. It would only do a 14 sec 1/4 but seeing the WTF look on the face of the driver of a muscle car next to us at an intersection as they saw the puny front tires of that beetle pop a foot off the ground while they just sat there and spun was priceless.

Any racer, drag or road, will tell you that suspension setup is just as important, if not moreso on a road track car, than overall power and top speed.

Sure, the previous generation Shelby GT500's made great power, but the problem was they could not stick it to the ground. That's why they only ran low 12's, high 11's. Put about $1500 into the suspension and another $1000 into tires and you have a 10 second car that traps only a little bit higher than a stocker.

Honestly I'd rather see a car that can make it around the track faster than just in a straight line. Putting your foot to the ground and keeping it there is nothing compared to a track driver. Just my 2 cents...

20 bux for around 20 feet of tubing ?? tell us where to get it please..

Russ Collins had highest trap speed for 12 years, but  a lot of those years, bikes were going Quicker = lower ET  clear example where the trap speed may not win...

That is 4.50 per foot..need at least  10-12 feet for the header pipes, then some more bigger stuff for tailpipe plus collecter, and baffle. Yeah they should just build their own.. the first 4-4 were rerouted stock pipes anyway..

thanks for this thread!  reminded me that i still have a car and i need to replace my manifold that has a hairline crack in it.  doesn't really affect my mileage, but it does make me sleepy at stop lights.... lol.

its funny, because i have a '95 civic and the manifold from the honda dealer's parts dept (with a 10% discount) is about $300, but i can get a SS performance header for like $120.  amazing.

It's only steel tubing, maybe 20 bucks worth, a pipe bender, flaring tool, pipe cutter with some minor welding. Seems to me with the lower number of CBs verses Civics the present day price differential would more than make up for a better quality product costed at MAC or Crapies price. We pay more to get less "and we are so dumb they are lining up at our door" (who said that anyway :)

PIPE will not work. Too heavy.
Muffler shops use compression benders and the bends look bad for a motorcycle.
TUBING will work but you need a mandrel bender.
I made my own bender that can bend a 4.5 inch radius with a smooth mandrel type bend.
It cost me about $400 to build the tubing bender.
But then I made a motorcycle frame, railings for my boat, I made a hand railing for my front of my house too. I made exhausts for one of the motorcycles I built.

lucky, sounds like you need to make some templates and start churning out stainless cb pipes.  yoshi-style.

This is starting to have nothing to do with our SOHC4 bikes. Maybe the mods should move it to other something. Maybe even another site ::)

Right now I think the thread is going in a good direction. The ratrod and 4wd sites have good fab and tool sections. Maybe we need one . One of my friends has a Jd2 bender cost about $350 + $150 ish each die does his stock car roll cages.
