Ok, so i am stumped on my in. pound torque wrench.

I seriously cant figure out how to use this thing. on the knurled handle it has numbers 0-9, and on the shaft of the torque wrench it has two sets of numbers(besides the back side which is measured in KPM) left side is 120,360,600,840, right side is 240,480,720,960. So it goes up in 120in. pound increments. I can not figure out how to set this wrench to torque my head bolts down. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Do you have a picture? Model etc.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

The nut gives you 1-9.  Say 125 is 120 and than you rotate the nut for the number 5 to be against the mark on the bar.

Is it one full turn of the handle to go from 120 to 240?  In that case one point on the handle would be 12inch pounds.

I've watched that video a few times. That explains ft. lbs which is much easier to figure out. My wrench starts at 120 in. lbs and goes up in 120 in. lb increments. Im so confused????

I'm guessing by the pics that 1 full rotation of the handle = 10ft/lbs or inch/lbs whatever.

Ok I think i may have figured it out, tell me what you guys think. Say the 0 on the handle it lined up with the bottom of the 120 mark, If i turn the handle to the right to the number 2, that would be 140in. lbs correct? Why is there the square root symbol coming from each number? Thank you again for all the help, and sorry about the newbie question. I have to start somewhere.

The square root is just a pointer to fit numbers on the handle. My wrench has them too.

This is the answer.  The 0-9 on the handle are multiples of 12 in/lbs.

Or you could go down to your local Sears and snag one of these.

If it helps..  120 inch lbs = 10 ft pounds.  so each number going up from there would be slighly less then a foot pound.  140 for example would = about 11.666 ft lbs

Each hash mark between the numbers would be one unit.  0 '1' 2 '3' 4 '5' 6 '7' 8 '9' ... and so on
