I was vapour blasting aircraft engine parts in 1964 and it was not a new process then and yeah it does give a good finish.

bill is it about the same as the dryice blasting

it does clean well,i wonder though how hard the contact surfaces of that gear set would be after the rust has been removed?

Dave if I remember properly we'd use on pistons, conrods, crankshafts, but not valves, and that I don't remember why, James I've never seen dry dry Ice blasting so can't compare.

a close up of those gears would have to show pitting?the vapor wont hurt them its the rust etch thats on my mind,theres a few companies here that advertise in bike magazines etc with that service.
