fuel tank cap question
« on: April 13, 2012, 04:33:41 PM »
I finally figured out why my fuel petcock kept dripping gas.  I had already removed it and replaced the seal and o-rings.  I came back to the tank (removed from my cb750k4) later and turned the valve to the on position.  A large amount of fuel came out under pressure.  I assume the vent in the cap has become clogged allowing the tank to become pressurized.  How does the cap vent and can it be serviced?

In the pictures you can see the little hole in the cap.
That's the vent.  Clean it out  with a little wire or blow it out with compressed air.
