Do a search on xylene and wintergreen oil.  Lot of discussion on that method...

I just did this the last two days with several sets. The hardest part was finding the Winter Green oil. Found in the cooking section of Drugmart. Tiny little bottles like .0125 oz. Bought four, that's all they had. Put that in about 1/2 qt or less of Xylol and let them soak 6hrs. Came out SOFT! Almost like new.

Just wondering if exhaust will smell like winter green when bike gets started???? ;D

Stop by your local friendly drug store and ask them to order a 4oz bottle for you. May already have it but doubtful anymore as times have changed. Should have it the next day.

I buy wintergreen oil at Amazon.com, in 4 oz. bottles. Works well with xylol!

Much more economical than in the small bottles and guaranteed 100% wintergreen.  This is good stuff.   Tire Prep #12
