Hello from Madison, WI!
« on: April 10, 2012, 08:54:04 PM »
Hi all,

I don't actually own a sohc 4, but I have a couple old Hondas parked out back - a 77 CJ360T and a 75 CB125S. I picked up my 360 (nicknamed Barney on account of the p.o's purple paint job - looks exactly like Barney the big purple dinosaur) in April of 2011 with about 16k miles on her. Rode it until 19k until I realized the oil filter clogged up and the motor ate itself  >:( . My fault for failing to check on the p.o.'s lack of maintenance; stupid mistake, I know. I'm currently finishing a rebuild with Suzuki GS850 pistons, a la crazypj and hoping to have everything running this weekend *crosses fingers*

I picked up my 125 about a month ago with about 3k miles. The only thing wrong with it is the rusty tank that had previously been lined with Kreem (and is peeling badly). For now it doesn't leak, and I'm hoping to stretch until winter before having to strip it. Until then I bodged a fuel filter over the petcock inlet with a Fram G4164 filter, 1/4" fuel line, some old vacuum line, and choice words. Works like a charm - cheap and cheerful.

As for the 4 cylinders - I'm on a temporary vacation from those. It's a long story involving a Kawi KZ650, lots of engine teardowns, and a #2 cylinder that refused to fire. However, the CB750s are pretty slick. Maybe a CBX once I'm rich and forget my old Kawi  ;D
In the Stable:
1977 CJ360T "Barney"
1975 CB125S

In the Past:
1980 Kawasaki KZ650F1 - she was too needy.

You don't have to own a sohc to be an admirer or intended owner. Welcome Aboard!  Many of us also own other brands and models.............but something always keeps bringing us back to the sohc models..........maybe its the comfort of knowing so many others also enjoy these bikes.  Be sure to check out the Other Bikes page for info on your current bikes.
