Battery recommendations for CB350-F ???
« on: May 06, 2012, 05:04:36 AM »
I'm looking at a new battery and was wondering if anyone has recommendations or experience with something that might be more suitable for this model, other than the stock battery.

My current battery lasted about 3 1/2 years and was always pulled and charged for the winter storage.  It doesn't get much running, but was never a problem until the other day.  I went to start it after about a week of sitting idle, and the idiot lights came on when I switched the key, but then went out as soon as I hit the starter button.  There was the typical "click" as the starter button was depressed.  When I checked all the obvious (fuses, ignition switch) they were OK, but the voltage was only about 10 volts and dropped to much lower when the starter was pressed.  I got it started by the kick and it was running and producing charge voltage fine.  Putting it onto a trickle charger didn't revive it and it only makes bubbling sounds  :-[.  I figure its gone and blown a cell.

Replacing it is my next step, but since I will be going this route I was wondering if anyone has something other than a stock unit to recommend.

this brand here is also a good one i have these in my bikes one is 4yrs old and the other is 3 1/2yrs old and both work very good the key is to keep it on a good charger when stored for long periods of time. i have a schauer brand it puts a load on it and keeps it charged like it is being used.they also come with little pigtails so you can keep the wires hooked up to your bike and when you need it just plug it in.the cheap wal mart batteries suck they do only give a 6 month warranty on them  the motocross comes with a 2 year warranty.the motocross batteries i have where only 45.00 each but it depends on your location on what prices are going to be
I've done a lot of things in my life that I'm not proud of...and the things I AM proud of, "are disgusting"
