Throttle cables
« on: April 21, 2012, 06:16:55 AM »
Here's my situation: 79CB650 has working stock carburetors. Came with a set of early 70's 750 carbs with the side lever choke. Install easier than the stock pd50's; 750 carbs are backup set; single pull cable is what i need. the one that was on my bike when i bought it is frayed up a few inches from the end. Bought a new Motion Pro pull cable. Outer case is an inch longer and the steel cable itself is at least 2 inches longer. Anyone here know of an actual "proper length" Cable that i can get so i can exchange this one for it? Or do i just take my cable for the 750 that i have into a local customizing shop and get a new one made? Or; this brain fart just happened: rig up some spacers on the adjustment end of the new cable. Btw: cable label package said: for cb550 and cb750 '74 to '76.  Just looking for any advice or solutions.
