KO or not KO?
« on: April 19, 2012, 03:32:45 PM »
This just came up for sale here in NZ and was wondering if it really is a KO 750, some things don't quite ring true but I don't profess to be a 750 expert so is it or isn't it?

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

It's got the correct numbers and date on the frame. Mine is 11/69 and is 1014100. That bike is 10,000 newer 3-4 months. There are a few parts that look funny, I'm not sure about colors and stripes of bikes that went to other countries either.

No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

I agree with Don everything looks right to be a KO, but a few things stand out that are different like the tank stripes. And of course the seat is not the original ducktail KO seat. Looks like vin# is  10243-- and build date is 2/70. My KO is Vin#103----- and a build date of 4/70.

unless that camera's color is out of whack, that is a repaint.

Yeah the seat was the first thing I noticed, the paint looks orange in some photos.

The paint is flake, is it meant to be? Picture #16.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

A few things I noted besides the torn gator is no recessed ignition. He also has the side cover badges on the wrong sides. The Honda wings should be facing frontwards. It is for sure a repaint, but all in all looks like a nice bike. Probably a K1 seat on there.

Tank badges are wrong too.

I'd like to see a side view of the air box.  The K0 side view is different from the later version.
I wish mine was that clean and polished.
