With a dyna-s and coils what plug wires should i go with?
« on: April 18, 2012, 04:01:58 PM »
Ordered up my dyna-s and 5ohm coils for my honda 75' cb550.  Thanks to all who helped me in my other thread! I wanted to got the vintage cloth look, but seen that every wire stated it should not be used for electronic ignitions.  So that option seems to be out of the question.  Whats the right wires I should be purchasing?

Thanks
Matt

Standard, copper core wires, like those that came stock are the best.  The Dyna-S is not a true "electronic" ignition.  It's a "points-less" ignition that still uses the stock mechanical advance mechanism, and has no cpu that can be negatively affected by the electromagnetic pulses created by the ignition.

I got everything at NAPA, 7mm copper core wire, coil plugs and plug wire crimper. I like the idea of replacing the plug wires on every other tune up. they do wear out with heat and time. I've always done that with cars and boats, it should be done with motorcycles as well.
