Has there ever been a SOHC/4 Rally?
« on: April 24, 2012, 05:29:38 AM »
Has there ever been an official SOHC/4 Rally? Last year it was briefly discussed here on the World Tour forums. This group is so large and spread out, it probably needs regional organization (ie; East Coast Rally, West Coast etc). Another idea was doing the rallies at national race events, like Daytona, World GP,laconia etc. or bike shows (Rhinebeck, NY, Mid-Ohio Vintage Motorcycle Days etc. Events like those are always receptive and help advertise rallies.

i just made a post yesterday in the Central forum about Ohio Vintage Motorcycle Days (Jul 20-22) -- I'm less than an hour from it and plan on being there all weekend.

Probably some of the SE Michigan fellas would be interested in going too, since OVMD is in northern-ish Ohio.

There has been no US SOHC rally's but there was a Western Europe SOHC rally for a number of years organized by Johnny from Belgium and the late great Axl the Satanic Mechanic.

A few of us on the East Coast have been meeting at Rhinebeck NY the last few years including Bobby R, Doggie from Long Island, Norstudio from Brooklyn etc etc.

If you want a Rally just pick a weekend and organize it and they will come :)

Cheers
Andy
