headlight
« on: April 19, 2012, 01:42:26 PM »
I don't know which wires to hook my headlight too can anybody help? I've looked at the diagram and its not helping because I have eliminated all the switches and electronics up front so now I just have a bundle of odd colored wires. I think I just need 12v and a ground?

Have you got the wiring diagram for it? Blue, white and green.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Lester is correct you will need three wires if you what high and low beam and a ground. For this you will need a 3 position Sw. high low and off. Do you still have the wires on the harness.

I just want the low beam and the headlight came with a blue, white, green, and yellow, but on the harness these colors aren't all there. The harnesses has a green but no blue or white. I mistaking had removed the old headlight without identifying which wires it was hooked up too. I'm hoping to just have low beam when I turn on the key, no switches.

If your bike's wiring doesn't match the wire diagrams, how could we possibly tell you what wires to hook up?
What is left of the bike that is in stock configuration?

Green is GND.  White is Low beam power, and Blue is high beam power.

The black wires (if you have those) come on (+12V) with the key switch in the on position, (if you have that).

For the bike to be street legal I imagine that you will have to have both high and low beam.
Do you have a copy of the Honda Shop Manual or Parts List for your bike? Get one here:
