I'm kinda surprised at how little discussion there's been about Levon here. He was a consummate artist that followed his own path rather than an orchestrated one set forth by the music "Industry". He was an incredibly talented musician, singer, songwriter and actor. He didn't get in front of the camera very often but when he did he was lights out. This scene from "Shooter" was possibly his finest moment on the big screen. He is not Levon Helm playing a very knowledgeable crafty old gunsmith...he IS a knowledgeable crafty old gunsmith. When I first saw this movie I didn't realize it was him until the credits rolled...World Ain't What Seems, Is It Gunny? This is from 4 years ago. He was already in bad health but just look how happy and into the music he was. They don't make 'em like this anymore...You will be missed brother.Levon Helm Ramble At The Ryman "Ophelia" on PBSMike
