Last year at Barber, I picked up this fairing. About $70, I think. It's been in the closet of my spare bedroom ever since.

Pulled it out and decided it looked pretty cool on "The Brown Bomber", aka, The STF bike. So, my Dad and I fitted it today. Had to grind the opening to fit the headlight ring. First with an angle grinder...

.......then touched it up with my Dremel tool.

Picked up some longer bolts so we could bolt it on from the INside of the headlight.

Double nutted the bolts to the headlight and used the other two spikes I had to mount it from the outside.

A little semi-gloss black on the inside....

Started priming it and realized I used alcohol instead of Preps-All. Had a minor reaction....and then I decided, "Hey, this is a sweep the floor bike and that will match the patine on the tank just right!", so I left ot. Didn't spend much time sanding it at all.

Used some paint I picked up from the local hobby store (model car and airplane paint)....

....coated it with semi-gloss black, then the green....

...and then fogged it with the brown to match the faded tank. Topped it off with some clear.

Love the fairing. The paint looks amazing. Wish you lived closer i would farm out my paint to you lmao. Any amazing looking bike. Man.

Frame brace welded on and tail light bracket added.

The light tucks up nicely with the seat. In the pics, it looks like the license plate will be close to the tire, but that's just an optical illusion. I think it will clear just fine in real life.

Gonna pick the bike up from my buddies shop today and sort out the last of the wiring. I hope to hear this thing run in the next few days!

Leaving it white. I'm not even gonna touch up the finger prints and scratches at this point. Maybe one day I'll give the bike a proper paint job and repaint the exhaust but, right now, I'm digging the rat-bike vibe.

Oh, forgot to mention, I will be trimming the plastic inner fender so that it won't show once the seat is mounted.

Idk about rat bike... Its way to nice to seem like a rat bike. I like that exxhaust but a set or 4 into 4s would set it off.

She lives! Rode her home today. Still have a few loose ends to wrap up and check on a possible charging issue. Hope to have it all done and on the road in the next few days.

With the help of my Dad and a little help from friends.

Here are some pics from today. I was also just informed that this bike was nominated for bike of the month! That's crazy to me, since most of my builds are all shiny and purdy and stuff, and this "sweep the floor" rat-bike gets the attention!

I took the fairing off for now because it hit the master cylinder when I aimed the headlight. I started trimming it to fit, but I think it looks cool both ways.

I'm also trying to decide whether to finish the 400F pegs and keep the Clubmans or run these bars (I have no idea what they're from....picked them up at Barber for $2). They're about like Euro bars or maybe a little like Flanders.

I like your bike. Looks great without the fairing or fancy paint. Looks like it wants to be ridden hard but not put away wet. very cool.

Back when I put 400F pegs and bars on my CB500, I had to buy enough bits and pieces tomake a full set of pegs. It tutns out that I had enough to make two sets. The pretty stuff went on the CB500, but I used the rest to make a set for the STF bike.
