Cam chain adjuster stuck!
« on: April 21, 2012, 06:28:52 AM »
Never mind I got it. My wacked out thinking last night after 12hrs of working on the bike. I thought that the stud turned. It doesn't just moves in and out. daaaaaaaaaa I took another look at it today with a clear head. Haven't really worked on an old CB in thirty years and forgot how that works.

I've basically got this CB550F back together for my friend. I went to adjust the cam chain and can not turn the adjuster threaded screw. Carbs and everything is back on so I'm working with a limited space now. I wish I knew it was stuck before putting carbs on.

So what's my choices in trying to adjust the chain? What have you guys done to get those loose just short of taking block off? No I'm not. I'm not real sure at this time if the chain needs adjusted. But it will in the future I'm sure. I might get it fired up today to sync carbs, so I'll listen for a loose chain.

Any help getting this this loose will make my day. Thanks
