Hi!
Thank you, brookesy.
I started to write "how to" article, but stuck... 3/4 done... Need to make couple drawings and pictures. Not too easy to explane how to make "by eye":)

yeah was waitin and waitin and ... well you get the drift, frpm what i can gather, you are using the clutch piston working on the existing cb clutch actuator?... so really its more a matter of mounting, i wasnt sure weather the clutch cover housing mounts wo0uld hve been strong enough, but obviously they are, this is a great idea.... BTW do you adjust it the same as the old clutch, and what happens to the ball bearings under the cam plate now?, did you remove them?... i have a spare VTR1000f slave cylinder, which looks similar to yours, would this be ok?, also, did you need a specific length of slave cylinder shaft?... thanks in advance.... BTW, if you have gone to the trouble, you didnt happen to make a drawing of the backing plate, with dimentions?... peace

1)so really its more a matter of mounting, i wasn't sure weather the clutch cover housing mounts wo0uld hve been strong enough, but obviously they are, this is a great idea
2)BTW do you adjust it the same as the old clutch, and what happens to the ball bearings under the cam plate now?, did you remove them?
3)i have a spare VTR1000f slave cylinder, which looks similar to yours, would this be ok?, also, did you need a specific length of slave cylinder shaft
4)BTW, if you have gone to the trouble, you didnt happen to make a drawing of the backing plate, with dimentions?...

1)I drilled them and continued thread. Strong enough
2)I didn't remove them. Adjusted roughly. Hydraulic is self adjustable ;)
3)I think, will be OK. No.
4)Unfortunately no :'(

what are the advantages to a hydraulic clutch?
greg

Easy to operate. Self adjustable  ::) Cool ;D

BTW, article is finished, doc is here. Pictures in next post. Sorry for trouble:)

Anyway...

I've downloaded the pics and document.
I'll have a read tonight (long weekend - yee-friggin-haa)

If it's not covered in the doc. - which slave cylinder did you use?
(probably covered in the doc.)

Thanks for the info -
i might be able to draw something up

I've attached a part copy of the k1 drawing i'm working on - it's getting there slowly

They can not drop down... If you don't like them, you can make new push shaft, but how will you prevent rotation? 8)

Thanks Guys...
I plan to eventually do the bike in 3d - but it's a long process in my "spare" time.

I was wondering if it might be possible to do a casting to bolt onto the clutch cover to take a slave cylinder
something to think about in the future

I starting drawing this damn thing so i could work out my bike mods before i commit myself
now the drawing has become almost as important to me as finishing the bike

would also to good to draw all the different models of 750 - but that's a huge job

also,
read the stuff on the clutch conversion - i'm impressed.
should be easy enough i hope

If you are interested in pursuing this casting idea, please let me know.  As a sculpture student with quite a bit of foundry experience, I think I may be able to help.  I too am looking forward to doing this mod for my bike, and I think the cast option would be awesome.

I'm keen to have a go at a casting - no experience in that area though - but i figure i'll have a go at almost anything... almost.

I've been thinking about it a bit and it's starting to work out.

Worthwhile project i reckon

just a thought could you not take the chrome cover and fill the hollow of it in, then use that as the back/locator for the counter sunk holes in the clutch cover houseing, then just make the top flat, them from that make the nessessary cut outs and clearances for the clutch arm etc that might foul up. just a thought was haveing a look at some parts diagrams i have here and thought that might be a way to start?.... peace

So I'm dying to do this conversion on my scoot, but I get a little confused when trying to pick out the right parts.  Here's what I do and don't know...
DO:
-To get efficient and proper engagement of the clutch, the bore and/or stroke of the slave and master cylinder should be equal.  One easy way to do that is match the parts off the same bike (if possible).
DON'T:
-The slave cylinders that I am finding on ebay appear to be missing something, and that something is some part/piece that actually does the engaging.  I keep seeing cylinders with a small orifice on the inner face (side facing the bike) that seem as thought they should have a bolt/rod/arm sticking out of them that will actually engage/disengage he clutch.  Am I wrong?  What am I not understanding or seeing here?  Maksm I don't suppose you could decribe all the pieces, or better yet, temporarily remove the plate that the slave cylinder is mounted to so we could see this.  I'm sorry to ask what will probably turn out to be a silly question, but I have never dealt with hydraulic clutches before.  Help!

Hey, babyfood1217!
I don't promise that I will remove mounting plate in nearest future (today, tomorrow)... It depends on spare time... Picture will describe everything i guess. What about one week (maximum)? It's not a rush ::)

Oh Maks, you're the greatest!  Haha, no rush whatsoever.  Besides, tuition is due soon, so I can't buy any bits for this conversion anyway!  Thanks in advance, and I look forward to your post!

Can you put together some kind of parts list for this mod? :)  I might do this on my 400F.
