I swear, it followed me home
« on: April 22, 2012, 07:28:08 AM »
I couldn't resist this bike when the seller asked if I'd make a trade for another bike I had. I need to find an exhaust that has better ground clearance because the PO put an 18" wheel on the front and a GS1100 swing arm on the back. The shocks are more pitched due to the swing arm so the back are lowered by that. The stock front wheel is a 19" so having the 18" on there lowered the front. I'd like to keep it low but the header scrapes when cornering. I'm going to try a MAC header and if that don't work I'm not sure what to do. Other than that the bike is ready to ride, which I plan on doing a lot of. This thing is crazy, fast.

Very nice score!  Does the PO have the original parts?  Why not just go back to stock?  The Kerker's nice, IMO.

Like I mentioned in my post I'd like to keep it low that's why.

Nice one. I had a 78' Silver/Blue Z1-R KZ1000 w/ the O.E. coffin tank & 18" front wheel..they went to 19" on the 79' Z1-R which was a Black Cycle.

Is this the 998 or the 1015?
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.
