Dan... early on, your bike was and continues to be, a real inspiration. So tasteful and tight!

If you would, could you please post your carb jetting and needle settings since you got a good A/F ratio with the pods? I understand that a bike at rest won't have the issues normally associated with pods, but it'd be nice to know the settings, nevertheless.

Wow, Dan, it certainly does take you a long time to reply to a post!

Welcome back. You and your beautiful black bike have both been missed. Thanks for bringing us up to speed on some of the changes in your life. You certainly haven't been sedentary. Hope you spend some time with us and maybe post some photos of the motorcycle activities in your beautiful country. BTW, your garage looks great.

As for me, I'm winding things down. I've been liquidating the collection for the last couple of years. I still have a workshop full of parts but I'm chipping away daily. Soon, irrespective of my advanced age, I plan to make one last life change: to probably move to SE Asia where the water is warm, the people are friendly, and living is a lot cheaper than here in Southern California.

Anyway, you've been through, and accomplished, a lot since your last visit. It's good to know that you're still around. Now, don't be a stranger! Welcome back!

Wow, almost 8 years since the last post... time sure flies!

Been a busy period though, and as life goes it has had its ups and downs.

In 2013 I sold the house I started restoring back in 2007, and bought a new place without a garage.
Got planning permission to build a new shop there and started immidiately. It was finished in 2014.

The place is just by the sea so I figured I needed a boat, bought one that turned out to have a rotten transom. Started rebuilding it in 2015.

In February 2016 I had an accident and broke my neck. Took a bad fall and fractured C7, crushed the disc between C6-C7 and tore all the ligaments too. Surgery with cervical fusion of C6-C7 was done with great result, no neurology, no pain or ache, no nothing.
Was back at work after five weeks, but had to be careful while the bones healed.

So 2016 wasnt a productive year and everything was put on hold until I was strong enough to get back in the saddle so to speak.

The boat wasnt finished until 2017, but I have enjoyed it since.

Picked up a KTM SuperDuke 1290r in 2018 and boy is that a fun ride!

Anyway, this winter has been spent looking over the CB750 and fixing some stuff I never got around to back in 2006.
Tore the engine down and replated all the hardware, replaced the slightly leaking headgasket with a NOS-gasket, replaced the camchain tensioner, replaced the cam with a another stock cam in as new condition.
And a general clean up of course.

Its coming back together now and thoughts about letting it go this summer are popping up.
Has been with me since 1995, so its not an easy decision...

Got to where I wanted with the boat, and was pleasantly surprised when it handled much better and was faster than before the rebuild.

Its a 21-foot DC powered by an old 1993 Johnson FastStrike 150.
Topspeed is now 63 mph, might get a mile or two more with at sharper prop

Built myself a wetblasting cabinet to be able to take care of my own finishing for my next project, and of course I couldnt resist to clean up the carbs for the CB...

And the C-hook idea that someone on these great forums came up with is really making the chore of fitting the engine in the frame a one man operation, with no stress, strained backs och scratched up paintworks

Mine is so crowded between K3, Ruckus, lots of woodworking stuff. Wish I could expand.

However, the only place we get snow is way up on top of Haleakala. :-))

Sorry to drag back off topic but the Super Duke is a fantastic bike, I love mine. We head out every May for Deals Gap with Vintage Bikes for the annual 2 stroke meet, and it is tough getting off the SD and hopping on to a 40 year old bike, but hey, if such are the problems in life, I am blessed.

Its the best investment I've done so far, bar none, and I spend pretty much every minute of my spare time in there.

Been chipping away on the 750 and today I gave the tins a polish.
Good to see that the 13 year old paintjob is still up to scratch

Up and running with the chrome 4-2 pipes to get the soundlevel down for its last MoT ever.
In Sweden motorcycles more than 40 years old get exempt from MoT's, and this being a -75 would have been so back in 2015.
However it hasn't been on the road since then, so it needs to prove that it's roadworthy one last time.
I dont think there will be any problems though
