removing powder-coating
« on: June 08, 2006, 05:27:15 PM »
so a while back i blasted and poweder-coated a tank - the sand blaster #$%*ed up, coated inside, the metal was too weak, ended up with lots of holes, etc.
so i decided to cut the thing up and weld some knee inserts. so now i need to get rid of all that pwdercoating. is sand blasting my only option?
thanks guys!

Take a look at this. If you scroll down, there is one paragraph re: removal. The rest is about the process in general. Good luck, let us know how it goes.

I wondered if that would work. In reading about the process, it's described as paint powder (pigment?) that's baked on.
