Idle speed with and without lights
« on: June 09, 2006, 08:14:06 AM »
I've been sorting out my bike and going through all the tune up procedures with much help from everyone here on the board. While I was working on it I had the lights turned off to help save the battery during long periods of idling.  After not being able to get the bike to idle below 3000 rpm, it finally dawned on my to turn the lights on and it instantly settled around 1200 rpm.

Initially I was pretty pleased about this but the more I thought about it, is this ok? Should the idle speed that affected by the lights? This is on a 350.

Simple answer ...... NO!

Sorry but I can't tell you what is causing the problem.
