New cb750 owner pittsburgh
« on: April 09, 2012, 08:12:43 AM »
Hey everyone just saying hello.  I just bought a 1975 cb750f with 28k miles on it and it runs (not all that well).  It's a basket case that someone rattle-canned everything over the original paint and chrome.  My first step to electrolysis the rust out the tank.

I'll post how it goes.

I have pictures at my Flickr site.  Not sure how to upload them here yet (or if new members can).

I just ordered some progressive spring and fork seals to rebuild the front forks!  Got my clubmans and a carpy cb750f seat.  I'm gonna fab up the bars and the seat before I do the strip down and paint removal.

Next I gotta learn how to polish metal......

Just got tank de-rusted with the electrolysis method.  Ordered the seat pan for upholstery.  Trying to decide on paint schemes  gloss black with blue racing stripe?  Otherwise saving up money for the engine rebuild.
