I have an extra that I'd make into a tank, is the 550 dry sump?
I'd have to see about a price. It would include SS oil lines and you would have to send me your old hoses so I cane make adapters for the motor

It's about 1 1/2" longer than stock, I'm pretty sure that what carpy sells as his "improved handling swing arm" I spent about two hours on it tonight and the thing handles awesome! It's a little stiff, but hell it rides like my 748!

I wouldn't need it to have an oil tank in it. 550 isn't like the 750...... Simply looking for a stronger and better handling swing arm.

I'll do some research, I need to know what wheels/brakes you'd run and shock length.

Hah.  That's one of my favorite essays of his.  I remember reading it when it was first published - here's to gonzo journalism!

Also, what a beautiful piece of work you have there.  Congratulations - I hope mine looks half as good when I'm done.

Voted.  But it took a certain amount of restraint to keep from clicking on that scrambler! ;)

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

I think your link's broken mate?  ???
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"
