Super simple, not sure about the kits with all the lock nuts and threaded rod.
I'll be making a set with a 6061alum bar to replace the steel one later.

I'm going to drill for some plug welds and tig around the adapters...... Has tons of clearance.

Ok deciding what decals...it's the sohc4 wing logo, or Ducati lettering saying Honda ..... Tank is going to be white with centered red stripe that goes into tail.... Tail will be red with white number plates. Decals will be in the same spot on the tank as stock 996....

Wing Logo........great ideas and skills..........look at the airbox on the cyclex.com site and fab a cover for it.......also think about the new wing-badges from a Goldwing or CBR1000......Great Mill 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

My fabricator friend has a salvage yard full of ideas waiting to happen!

Alright, I think I officially have a man-crush on you now.  Only reason I'm not 100% sure is because it's straight-gauge & TIG instead of double-butted & lugged. :)  If I ever get a house with a garage, I'm gonna get a decent frame jig and a welder and start playing.

I really like the idea of Honda spelled out in the Ducati lettering.  Go for it!

Its butted.... Mix of true temper ox plat/gold....... I was taught by Kelly Bedford, if you like lugged frames he's your man... He built the Serotta tour de France lugged team bikes. My next bike will be a SS lugged frame.

I'm familiar with Mr. Bedford's work.  Beautiful stuff.

I do like lugged frames best (my current do-everything bike is a 1988 Gios Compact built up with a Sturmey-Archer 5spd IGH), but I'm not a full-blast lugged snob - my all-time favorite bike is my Jamis Sputnik FG, welded up from 631 tubing.

Do you do the bike stuff for a living, or as a hobby?  Do you post on bikeforums.net?
