Interested to learn more about guys that raced the SOHC4.
I didnt think that it fit into any classes very well any more but since building a streamliner is a life dream for me i always love to read/learn about them

Anyone know anything else about that bike or where to get other info on it?

I have a magazine article on that liner somewhere, plus I know of a photographer that took pics of it, including the dasy it crashed.. his name escapes me this instant but he is very well known on salt talks.. put the question up on www.landracing.com and he will probably respond..

Frank we'd love to see whatever you can dig up and post. Is that a single engine with turbo?

I looked today for about an hour, was thinking though it was late 70..I see that was 72 on the above article so I will look again at some earlier mags. Found a few cool pics of Russ Collins, and the triple and double..and other early dragbikes..

There is a reference to the Honda LSR attempt in a book by Aaron Frank
I've tried to insert the link to it but failed. Just try inserting 'Honda LSR streamliner Bonneville' into Google and you should find it. It was next to the top in the list when I tried it.

The Honda Hawk as it was known was driven by tandem turbocharged CB750 engines. Went over 300 mph even on its side!, but the team were never able to turn around and make a backup run in the prescribed one hour.

Thanks Eric
Neat article there. Too bad they couldn't make the turn around, 305 mph is HAULIN!
Attending a Bonneville event is on my bucket list.

That's a cool blog Jesper. It was interesting to find out where the first Hi Vo chain was tested.
Honda used the Hi Vo chain in the primary drive in the 76 CB750 automatic which made me wonder if it was Hondas own idea, turns out after a little search that the TM is accredited to Borg Warner.
