So I think I've had this bike since November of 2010, and I think I can get it back onto the road in the next couple of months.  This is my first motorcycle, and I may have gone about it the wrong way.  I bought a pretty well used up 1972 Honda CB500 with a recent motor rebuild, and got to hacking.

This is what she looked like when I first bought her:

I've been pretty active on dotheton.com, but I like the SOCH4 forum deals specifically in my kind of bike.

I pretty much have no knowledge base, and I'm learning as I go.  Some people seem to get annoyed with my questions, and I get the "search for it" or "research it" vibe sometimes. But its pretty rough searching or researching fo rhtings when you don't know what to call them or how they work!  LOL

Anyways, here is where I am today, slugging away with no knowledge...

I hacked the rear of the frame off and with a buddy's help, welded up a Benji's Cafe Racer rear hoop/battery box.  Thats a Benji's tank and seat set, and I need to clean up the inside of the tank and coat it.  I painted the frame myself after the IRS stuck it in me and spent my powder coating funds.  I wrestled the motor into the frame myself, and I installed new bearings in the swingarm and the neck, and then dropped the bike on the garage floor!  Over the past couple of days, I've done up the suspension and wheels to the frame, and installed the carbs.  To date, the only things I've outsourced was the rebuilding of the nasty carbs and having the old frozen bushings and collar pressed out of the swingarm and new needle bearings installed.

Now I've got to take a couple days break from the project to get married this weekend, but when I get back, I am going to try going full bore on this!

If it is a lot of questions already asked you might want to just start a project bike page in the project build threads.
People can follow your progress and often help you out more easily since the history of the build is right there.

Aw, don't worry, D.  I'm sure the marriage between man and woman is just a passing fad.

yeah, just don't piss her off!!! She looks like she knows how to handle a side arm (and an armed truck) quite well.

Ali G is da man. There was a good one where he was in a redneck bar and started singing "throw the jew down the well". He is Jewish. :)
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Welcome to the forum, Ranger! This place is great for newbies- two months ago I bought my first bike, started with an oil change a week later, and then spent 50 days rebuilding the top end. These guys helped me out every step of the way (along with friends, local bike shops, a Honda AND a Clymber manual, Google...) You'll be fine.
