75 550K Rear Turn Signal Question!!!!
« on: April 28, 2012, 05:23:04 PM »
So I have searched and searched for this answer but could not find anything similar in any of the postings. Sorry if this is a duplicate but I'm getting very frustrated.

Swapped out my front signals with new led style signals, installed new electroninc blinker relay, everything worked just fine. Decided to swap out the rear signals of the exact same make (bikemaster scarab signals) and now just get a constant on of all of the 4 signals when switched to either left or right turn on the switch.

I think it might have somethign to do with the frame ground that was connected to the bracket on the rear signals. I removed it from the bracket and connected it to the ground on the new signal and ran it back to the same green terminal that all 3 grounds are connected to for the rear lights. The "hot" wires are connected to the lt blue and the orange in the rear harnes as they were when I took it apart.

THe only difference between the new signals and teh old single filiment signals is the ground wire is not on the mounting bracket anymore and is connected directly to the negative lead on teh new led light.

Any help would be appreciated....just did a full carb clean and rebuild ready to get it out on the road but can't without signals!!!!!
