Does your cb500 rear brake lever hit the pegs?
« on: May 03, 2012, 03:16:15 PM »
Had to take apart the brakes, but didn't check beforehand and i'm in the middle of the build and have no other 500 to compare to. Does the rear brake lever rest up against the foot peg? Mine will tap the peg when released. Not sure if thats normal. Thanks!

Mine does - 72 CB500. When released it comes up and taps the peg mount nut/bolt.

There is supposed to be a stop bolt and lock nut on a frame tab near the pivot shaft, than positions upward travel.

Might be a picture in the manual.

Yes, page 76 Chapter five "Chassis".  Fig 235

I checked my "gimme" 72 Cb500 that I've never ridden.  It's missing the stop bolt, too. ha ha.

Awesome, thanks! I do have the stop bolt. Just need to adjust now.
