Alright all you smart savvy honda fanatic's.......

Nissan Brakes.

The Stock brake piston diameter for CB750F (1977/78) disc brakes is 38.1 mm. This is the piston diameter not the bore on the caliper.

This is identical to the nissan brakes on the 77/78 goldwing.

Now I have a really great set of calipers.....but they are a bigger diameter on the piston. They are 42.8 mm on the piston diameter.

Would be kinda cool to use them as they would have more power but I sure am curious what they came off so I can order a seal.

The brake caliper body is identical to the 750F and the goldwing....only difference is the bigger piston....

Anyone have a clue what they go on?

  • Mmmm......tasty bugs
79-81 750 DOHC bikes have an identical looking caliper. Not sure if the bore is any different though.
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

I think the 750/900 twin cam was bigger but the seal is nearly double the cost!

Well after an hr at the Honda shop looking through parts manuals, model types and service manuals I found they are CBX brakes  ;D

CBX has the 42.8 mm piston vs the standard 38 for the supersport.

So...hell I'm gonna install them

The Cafe project rolls along

So far 77 k model frame, 78 SS front forks, CBX front brakes, drilled rotors, 78 SS swing arm and rear disc w/ drilled rotor, Boge shocks, custom aluminum sprocket for a 530 chain, Billet headlight ears, Low ride clip ons, 74 K model engine getting ready to come apart.

The list continues
