Ok not to bead a dead horse on this topic, but again I have the Lossa engineering version of a 4 into 1, and as I stated earlier that i was havein a high temp ceramic coating put on the exhaust. It ended up costing me $180 for the satin finish and I am very happy. It looks better and seems to perform better. With alot of these Yosi replica's there is alot of backfiring, since I reinstalled the exhaust with the high temp coating it hardly ever bacfires.

First thing I did when I got my Carpy pipes home was to take a metal saw to them and I cut it into sections.  I then rotated them to fit the alignment I wanted and went to a muffler shop to have them rewelded.  Then of to be thermal coated.

I'm planning to pick up one of Carpy's exhaust for my 550. Does anyone know if it interferes with rearsets mounted on the passenger footpegs location?

Yep, for 300 bucks they look great, do they have baffles? I wouldn't be fussed about whether they're Mig or Tig welded though, Mig is fine, and was "state of the art" before Tig became the flavour of the month. Ducati used mig welding on all of it's steel "Trellis" frames, and I've never heard of one breaking. Cheers, Terry. ;D

TIG welding has been around before MIG welding machines were developed .

Well I think you'd better go back to school then "Mister Welding Inspector", according to the history of welding, MIG welding was invented in 1916, and TIG welding was invented 24 years later, in 1940.

What's that saying again? Oh yeah, I remember, "Those who can, do, and those who can't, inspect".................  ;)

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

its better to regret something you have done, than something you havent.Except playing with explosives.

I like the pipe, just wished it were not soooo loud.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Sounds great to me. Not too loud for my taste, with a low muted rumble at idle to a nice growl through the midrange RPMs. The exhaust does scream at top RPMs though!

My CB500/550 pipes got here the other day. The welds are actually much nicer than on the 750 pipe posted earlier in this thread.

My only "complaint" is that for two weeks I heard nothing, got no confirmation email, etc. On the day I was going to call and check on my pipes, I got a tracking number and they actually arrived two days early.
I'll let you know how they fit, sound, etc.

I got my pipes two days ago. I didn't hear anything from him for two weeks, so I sent an email and he said there was a delay with his tubing supplier. I got the pipes almost a week later. The welds aren't the prettiest things, but they are fine for the price. I should have everything mounted enough to fire the engine up in a couple weeks.
