CB750K6 brake problem
« on: May 05, 2012, 09:54:17 AM »
Hi.  I'm looking for help.  I'm just in the final stages of rebuilding my K6.  The original had been converted to 2 discs with flexible hoses all the way to the brake calipers.  I've bought a Honda brake hose kit but when I screw the metal pipe section all the way home into the caliper, the pipe is still lose - I can move it up and down about 1mm.  The drawings on cmsnl.com don't show any other seals etc.. between the pipe and the caliper. Any ideas much appreciated.  Thanks, Phil

The pressed-in steel seat for the flare fitting may have been removed from the caliper.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

Yes, I just checked and that is missing (from both calipers). Do you know where I can get new inserts?

Sorry, I don't think they are available separately. Maybe you can find one that someone has removed to fit different style fittings. (I would be willing to give you mine, but think it would cost more than a 50 cent stamp to mail it to you.)
By the way, welcome to the forums!!!
