Modern CB750 Rear Damper/Spring Options?
« on: July 04, 2012, 11:42:22 AM »
Poking around eBay I've noticed that there are a plethora of take-off rear damper/spring combo's from various modern sport bikes available to be had for a song.  I realize that most of these are used on slightly lighter bikes and that they are not properly sprung for a CB750 because they are single damper setups, but why not use a pair and just swap in softer springs?  Surely if it were that simple it would have been done a million times already, right?

Biggest prob is CB750 clevis on bottom not real common. I've heard CB900F shocks work. For $200+ Progressive Series 12 good choice, new, proper spring ready to go.

Sounds like a simple fix; use an adaptor or cut the mount off of the swingarm and weld on a new one.  Makes something sexy like this possible for a price similar to lower quality replacements.

Aluminum body, compression, reboud, preload adjustable.

Sure if you can handle the cut and weld, the world is your oyster!  :D
