Correction: 022A and 627B emulsion tubes, NOT: 069B
« on: May 10, 2012, 09:36:29 AM »
Apologies if this has been covered, I tried the search function but couldn't find this info.  Can anyone tell me if the emulsion tubes in these two carbs castings were the same?  I'm having some trouble pulling them out to check.

I don't know any 069B carbs. But needle sets of 022A and 069A differ and that includes their emulsion tubes (needle jets).
The 022A air bleeds (ten of them) are a bit wider, 0,9 Ø vs 0,7 Ø.

I checked all the needles and they are stamped the same.  I just can't get the tubes out to see if they are stamped the same, this is assuming they are stamped.

I don't know any 069B carbs. But needle sets of 022A and 069A differ and that includes their emulsion tubes (needle jets).

I don't think they're stamped. Best way to get them out is to open throttle, so the needles rise. You can then use a matchstick or wooden toothpick and insert this from below into the tubes. By wiggling you can pry them out. Spraying some WD-40 at forehand may help. BTW, needles 022A and 069A differ in my book (cf. p 165 of the original Honda Workshop Manual).

Unless your carbs are really 069B please correct your initial post.

And armed with the correct casting number and the search function.. I found my answer. They are different, so I'll have to tap them out somehow and make sure they are the same across the board.

022A and 627B needle sets (including the emulsion tubes) are identical and differ from 069A carbs.
Allthough needle sets are identical, needle position may differ.
