I saw after Spokes and Co answered.

0 at the top and the keyway on the crank looking up at it.
The easiest place to connect the chain is about where the chain adjuster presses against the chain with the open end of the link clip downwards.

Yes, he sent a great picture and I was able to duplicate that in my garage. Strangest thing though - I can get the picture when I'm on one of my office computers but not on my home computer. I was going to post it here for future reference. I'll have to go to the office and email the picture to myself. Cliff.

Krusty, I sent you a pm but wanted to thank you again for the piston, pin and rings. The package arrived in good shape and the piston, rings and pin are now inside the motor. Cheers, Cliff.

Thought I would take a picture of mine as I have the valve timing set as recommended by an expert. My hand was a bit shaky with the laser and the camera. The trick is to line up the mark on the top of upper sprocket with the mark at the bottom of the lower sprocket in a direct line from top to bottom. The laser is the answer. And, finally figured out how to post a larger picture!

Now my question. Under the left cover where the clutch cable goes the parts book has a part and a bolt that were not on this engine. I didn't run the motor through the gears but the clutch did seem to work. The part in question is #1 on the schematic plus the bolt, #2. this is a 10/64 build so I guess registered as a 1965. Am I missing something or is this okay for a C95? thanks, Cliff.

They're just case bolts, yes? I think as long as the cover isn't pushing away from the motor when the clutch is lifted you're fine.

I see a bolt head on yours in the build thread, I guess I'm going to have find that part. I'll ask the guys on the CA95 resto forum about it too. They gave me the laser trick. You may find it a useful forum too for your Benly project.

Flash from the past! I haven't been on that forum in almost two years I think. Yes, you will want that part as it holds that lifter 'cup' in place, but it is a common Honda part from bikes over nearly a decade long run. My '71 CB500/4 has the same clutch lifter/adjuster mechanisms as these little CA95's

It can also be found from many early CB twins like the 350's. The bolt should just be an M6x1 in whatever length you need.

That's not my bike.

Mine didn't come with the sprocket covers or chain guard. Here's mine when it arrived, the poor thing.

Puttered around with the motor some more tonight. Got the valve clearances set and static ignition timing set I think. There seems to be a lot of air coming out of the breather on top of the head when I turn the motor over with the kick starter. The valves are seating because the rockers are not tight, I set them to what the manual says. Maybe that's just what these motors do?

Pouring rain, a good day to putter in the garage again. Got some laquer removal and polishing done. I wet sanded with 400 paper after spraying with aluminium aircraft paint remover, then blue compound and then green compound. It's a lot shinier than stock but I like it. Cliff.

Looks great Cliff! I see you are making good progress. A coat of Maas or Mother's aluminum polish will protect the work with the sanding and buffer so it lasts longer.

There is an ebay seller in Hillard OH (Classic Cycle) that sells on ebay as ibuy.isell and I have picked up old OEM Honda and NOS aftermarket parts from for my S90 and CA95. They are are good company and I have picked up several things for my bikes from them. They are selling a set of piston cylinder liners for CA95, should be (?) the same for C95??? ~$23 us...and the accept std piston sizes. Just in case you want to pick up a pair for future use/bike.
