Ken over at CycleX  is making those welded covers for around $190.  LINK (near the top on the right; no pic)  I have a few sitting on the shelf, bought one of them from him... I just think they're slick.  I think M3 also offers this service.

How much valve spring seat pressure are you running?

Not to many do these days Sammy.
I've never run them on our motors and we have never had any issues.
The quality of springs these days seem to require a lot less tension on the valve seat without suffering any float.

Cheers,
Brian

Back in the beginning there were no valve springs specifically for the sohc 750, so others were used that had way too much pressure.  The bolts thru the cam towers helped keep them from coming loose. Once we and others made springs designed specifically for the 750, it was no longer necessary.

However, as the nostalgia craze has hit the old Honda scene, we now see guys wanting to recreate those old days with ARD mags and the such.

Big Jay
per below, thanks for timesaving hint.   Also.............read past below

Speaking of valve springs...I was an old Honda die hard but techno wise have been out in the cold ( car racing industry) for over 15 years, suddenly realised I need to find my roots back on a Honda. Over the past few months I have been soaking things up from this forum and contacting some suppliers and two BIG things have struck me in contrast to the car scene !
1. None of the cam / spring suppliers advertise spring pressures.
2. Achieving zero leakdown is not in the lingo

Could you shed some light on why the bike industry dont talk spring pressures in general advertising,
cheers Johno

Most of the guys putting these motors together don't have a spring tester.
