I have a 73 CB500K2 25k with a good 1/4in of lateral play in the swing arm. I can feel this when turning, its real creepy. I have searched all over the net and can't find a reliable place to purchase some new Bronze bushings from. A lot of people have made there own and some have used Hondamans Service.

This is what I would like to do but I need a source for the bushings
http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=104216.0

I am a paying customer if someone can point me in the right direction please.

Thanks in advance

Here is a pic of the type of Bushing I would like to buy

Bought mine at a local industrial bearing supply house.  Think the brand was something like oilite?  It's an oil impregnated type.  I can check my records when I'm home  if you can't find any info.

I have a good place for you;a guy I met on the forum Bob Franzke is a machinist in CA. and is selling them on Ebay now.He gave me a discount because I am a member, his Ebay seller i.d. is:performanceintl and they're good hard bronze and will last Many miles when kept lubed regularly w/ grease.I also have his personal contact information.

I think if you want the complete swing arm service, it's tough to beat HondaMan's full fitment process.  ;)

+1 My local bearing place (called Purvis Bearing- a chain) has them, and I think McMaster Carr or Grainger might also.

If there is that much play you will need a new collar as well

Thanks everybody for all the great advice.

grcamna2 recommended Bob Franzke with CBX Performance for the bushings and after a quick email to Bob he responded with good news.

He has them and the price is right at under 50.00 delivered.

After a lengthy phone call (Honda Talk) I placed my order with him he sounds like a great guy.

Contact Bob here  franzke @ attglobal. net   he returned my email within 24hrs. sorry about the spaces the site wont let me ad links outside of the forum.

I'm glad you found them 73CB500K2,
I'd like to mention that bryanj has sound advice about your inner collar probably needing to be checked to see if it's with-in specification with a micrometer so that you'll have the correct fit like it had from the factory when new.It would also help if you purchased new outer & inner seals for the ends of the swingarm bearings to keep the grease in once you grease it.

Bob is a good man who does the job well.
