Thanks for the replies. Am I being too obsessive if I choose not to do Planet Blue, because it is a U.S. bike? I really love that color though.

You sound like you have reservations about blue, if you don't want a blue bike, don't paint it blue, don't give yourself anything to regret, especially with the price of paint.
