Vintage bell helmets

I collect vintage bell helmets and recently purchased one from the local goodwill.I have not seen this model before its a compact II . It has a 1975 snell sticker inside.Anybody have any info on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Ya saw that, some people are on another planet on what they ask for for their stuff.These helmets used to be dirt cheap at garage sales etc. now people are asking ridiculous prices.I just watched early 60s 500 sell for over $450 on eBay.

I know this has been covered in other threads, but please tell me you're not using it for protection.  It's brittle as hell at this point.

No I wear a newer Bell 500.I just like to collect them and put them on once in a while to pretend I'm Steve McQueen.

There are.  It isn't as noticeable because cars and boats have more layers, and have some framework underneath to hold them together.  I see it in boats all the time.  When the wood transom underneath  fiberglass rots, the fiberglass cracks.
