Question reguarding 78 cb 750 super sport stock exhaust

I have been looking at photos of these bikes in stock form and some of the stock exhaust on these bikes have a black part at the end of the pipe.
 I dont have this on mine.Did some of these bikes come without it?
 If it is supposed to be there what type of performance issues would result by not having this on the pipe.

From what I can tell, the black part at the end had something to do with holding the baffles in. If yours has the baffles, sounds good, and doesn't look ridiculous... more power to ya.
