CB750 Custom starter breaking free [SOLVED]
« on: May 12, 2012, 09:18:54 AM »
My custom will start cranking over for a few seconds and all of the sudden it breaks free and you can hear all the gears spin freely until they come to a stop and it finally engages again.  It has for the most part always done this until a few days ago where it stays engaged for a long period of trying to start it but after a few minutes (it takes quite awhile to get this started), it breaks free again.  I have taken every part out of the starter assembly and inspected all of the gears.  None of the teeth seem to have any visible wear on them.  So I moved onto the clutch assembly, none of the springs are bent or twisted but the it might have some wear to it but I'm not sure.
