<tilting the engine
« on: May 13, 2012, 04:20:35 PM »
Hi guys, i´m going to use a CB650 engine for a conversion and it will needed to be tilted forward, is not going to get abused neither given a hard time.
My question is the following, how many degrees do you think i can tilt it safely forward?
Thanks a lot

I would think not much (5-10 degs?), since the lubrication system was designed for the angel at which the engine sits in a stock frame.

will let sam decide if this is hipo or not... sounds iffy :)

just for starters, when people jack the back of a road race bike for quicker steering, they can easily tilt the whole bike motor included by a good 4-5 degrees.

More? oil pick up point can be modified, moved and the sump deepened with a spacer, etc, not a problem if you are hard core hipo ;)

will surely look odd, but hipo's can take it

no more tilt than the bike could ride up or down if it was a long steep hill?
