You'll never regret getting one and you'll have the best tech support possible from Mark.

I put on one of Marks ignitions at the same time as I replaced my coils with Dyna 5ohms. The change was dramatic. I'm sure I'm benefiting from the updated coils and wires as well but the bike starts much easier and idles smoother. In fact I did the work in a friends shop and when I hit the starter for the first time he was amazed by the difference. I've since installed a new OEM Honda (TEC) points plate since I know that the ignition will prevent the points from pitting over time. I set the dwell and timing and now I'm going to watch my dwell meter and timing gun gather dust.

I've never fiddled with other ignition options, but I have a hard time believing they are better. I tend to trust someone  like Mark who has wrenched on these bikes for decades and put more miles on a 750 than most of us could hope for. I'll take that over some engineer in a cubical designing ignitions for a hundred different applications and no greese under his nails.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of his products (I use his manual and installed one of his fuse boxes as well). Drop the cash.

'76 550 with HM unit and Dyna coils. Points will last forever, and as others have said the idle is smoothe and instant start ups. Great support from Mark confirmed. One of the best investments you could make.

'75 Cb550, 6K on the Hondaman ignition.

Idles steady and strong at 1K rpm. 3ohm coils with hondaman resistors.

Nice .8 gap on plugs.

Do put fresh points in when you put the ignition in unless they are only a few K old.

Mark has pointed out they do wear eventually... and he as forgotten that fact and been surprised by a sudden failure of the points.

Excellent product and totally plug & play.  I put mine on over the winter 2 yrs ago.  Normally, that first start of the season can be a chore after sitting all winter but with the ignition my 750 fired up on the second push of the starter.
