 He says "You will need to increase your main jet size for sure " and I was just wondering where everyone ended up? Did you go up on the main? How much.....105? 110?  Needle position?
  Please list any other mods...pods vs. stock airbox, bigger cam, etc.

I have his 550 pipe. I got V stacks with the Hondaman ignition. Other than that I'm stock.  I'm running .38 slows and 110 mains @ 3rd notch down from the top on the needle. The pipe sounds real good IMHO and mine fitted up no problem. The only thing I don't like is you have to remove it for oil changes. That's why I just ordered the MotoGP Werks exhaust.

Scott I had a yosi replicas on mine I tried sever different combinations but I know this works runs and sounds great

105 main jets
Replace stock filter with uni filter( if you increase fuel you need to increase air)
Lastly I had the exhaust coated with a high temp ceramic coating..... Huge difference ran smoother and backfired less. I don't know for sure if it was the coating but they claim it increases horsepower and performance.

I tried 115 jets way too rich
110 jets .....no low end
100 jets ...no top end

By the way I had a 78 550k if it helps

I would not buy a set of pipes that had too be removed every oil change. If I order a set I would tell him to send them bare metal. Then I would send them to be jet coated inside & out.They would last a lot longer Just my opinion.

 That's exactly why I went with the Jardine on my '78 550K.
 However, this is for my "Sweep The Floor" bike... a rat/cafe'/street fighter that will see limited usage. (I have several other bikes to ride, too) I don't mind taking it off once a year for an oil change.
 The pipes do come in bare metal.

I'm probably going to sell my Carpy pipe when I get my new one. I only ran it for a month. If your interested in a slightly used one, PM me your email address and I can send you a few pics. If you buy a new one you might want to weld on a rear mounting tab like I did prior to any painting or coating.

 Dangit, Matt! I already have one! I also have a muffler hanger bracket. I'm going to rig up something to hang it from the rear engine mount bolt somehow, since the P.O. cut off the passenger peg mounts.
 Unless the MotoGP Werks exhausts have changed, I'm pretty sure you have to remove it to change the oil filter, too....

MotoGP Werks must have changed their design. It uses springs for easier removal  during servicing. I believe the pipe comes in 3 pieces, it's much like a dirt bike set up now.

My yosi pipe was from , which was held together with springs, I'm pretty sure it was made by gp motoworks

So what did you set needles at?? 105's felt AWFUL in the midrange

 Raised the needles one clip, 105 main. Air screws 1.5 turns out + just a little more.....not quite 1.75 turns.

 550K with ported and olished head, CB650 cam, Jardine 4-1, Pamco, stock air box with Uni-Filter.
 So far so good, but I just finished the bike.

You raised the needles.... I bet that's my key. So easy to swap jets while the carbs are on, pretty sure my monster hands will necessitate carb removal to change needle position.

i just received mine but i havent checked it out yet, waiting for my v stacks to come in and dime city is sold out of main jets in 110,115 and 120 so i gotta wait for them too.

I've got the Motowerks CP exhaust and I really like the construction quality and design.  It came with springs to hold it all together, and there is a numb for securing it with an exhaust hanger off the passenger peg.  I haven't yet heard it as I am still putting together my bike (CB500).

Don't expect the exhaust to just fit up to the bike easy peasy...
If the carpy exaust doesn't come like the Motorwerks GP setup, basically in three sections that are securred with springs, you might want to pass.  On the Motorwerks setup, you install the header extensions loosely to the motor, and using a rubber mallet, install the header to the extensions, then tighten down the header bolts and it draws the header into shape.
