Tapered steering bearings - QuadBoss??
« on: May 14, 2012, 11:50:48 AM »
Hey Guys,

I couldn't find any reference to these anywhere on the forum, so thought I'd ask. I'm looking to upgrade my 72 cb750 to tapered steering bearings, and was just shopping around.  It seems most people have had luck with the All Balls sets, so I was mainly looking at those.  While searching  for the lowest price, I came across these:

http://www.powersportparts.net/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=TR41-6227

Which have the All Balls image even, but are listed as QuadBoss?  Are these the same bearings just from a different distributor, or are these a lower quality bearing than the All Balls?

Thanks!

Quadboss is Tucker Rocky's house brand and very likely uses the same bearings as All Balls.

I'd say he is selling All Balls unless he wants a law suit on his hands. Good price - how much is shipping? That would make or break the price.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Thanks for the feedback.  Initially I got linked there from Google, where it listed free shipping, but the site seems to suggest its $8, which brings the total to about $40.  Looks like there is a set on ebay for a couple dollars cheaper, which is definitely All Balls, so I'll probably just go that route to be safe  :P
