I redid it. It came out pretty well, I kind of like it with out the strap. I'm usually of the school of less is more. what do yall think? Thanks!

depends on your local inspection laws and your inspection station. in vt, bike is supposed to be equipped with passenger hand-holds if passenger pegs are installed.

Though the that would appear to be the purpose of the strap, I never thought it was something I would depend on if I were a passenger, pretty flimsy in my opinion. I'm tall enough that even on my 750, I tend to sit far enough back to be sitting on the strap.

I like the looks of the strap ,it breaks up the monotony of ribbed the pattern.

Creates visual interest. Slows you eye down a bit.

Maybe you should, maybe you shouldn't. It's a personal thing, you know, some people like straps, others prefer to go strapless. Have you considered a white strap to make your saddle like a two-tone buddyseat? Would be nice with whitewal tires and it certainly would break the monotony.
Should you put the strap back? I really dunno. I suppose it depends of the kind of person you are. Maybe you could inform us more about who you are and what other things you like and don't like.

if your tall enough to be sitting far enough back that your butt is on it you should definitely leave it off... I was very happy the day I took mine off, made the seat much more comfortable (and how is someone going to grab a strap that I'm sitting on anyway)

the australian models have a much longer strap so you can hold a carton of beer under it.

But since there's less air under your but, you'll run the risk of developping haemorrhoids. That's the price for going around strapless.

i always thought it was for aesthetics, and meant to look like a motorcycle jacket belt.

I've seen the Ausie Beers must be one heck of a strap! 6 of those one the back and I am surprised the rear end is not dragging on the ground.
